During install, why does the Android app need access to the camera, photos, or flashlight?

The built-in QR code reader requires the ability to scan a QR code using the camera (flash is controlled by the camera).

The QR code reader is often used to instantly provide access to a specific item within the app, for example, the printed Poster may have a QR code that will open the associated abstract or session within the app. It is also used for the digital business card sharing feature, which can usually be found in a tab called Contacts (depending on the organizer using this feature).

Photos is required to upload a profile pic to a users account.
