If your map thumbnail graphic has a black background, you have transparency in your graphic. Map graphics must have all transparency removed as the transparent areas will appear as black in the native apps.

Remove Transparency on Mac

  1. On Mac > Open the image in Preview
  2. File > Export > uncheck Alpha > resave the image using the same file name
  3. Compress and upload the new image:
    1. Upload your image to tinypng.com to reduce file size
    2. Download the compressed image to your computer (ensure the file name is the same as the original image you had uploaded to the CMS originally)
    3. In the CMS > Open the Maps page > Replace transparent map graphic with the image you just compressed.

Remove Transparency with iPiccy

  1. Go to https://ipiccy.com/
  2. Click Open on the top and upload the map image. A gray white pattern indicates the transparent areas.
  3. In the left hand Editor, scroll to Erase Background and uncheck the box Transparent Background. By default, it will the background with white.

  4. Click the Apply button
  5. On the top, click Save > My Computer
  6. Select .png as the file format and use the same exact file name as the image you had uploaded.
  7. Click Save to my computer
