This article only applies to EventPilot Pro projects with branded app upgrade or shell apps (this does not apply to EventPilot Event Subscriptions - if you purchased a DIY Subscription, review the Distribution > Attendees menu in the CMS):
In order for ATIV to submit your Android app, you will need to invite us as a user to your Google Play Developer Console. Having your own developer account will allow you to:
- View real-time download & sales statistics
- Allow changes of metadata to your app, without requiring ATIV's assistance (description, screenshots, etc.)
- If you do not yet have a Google Play developer account, register first at https://play.google.com/apps/publish/signup
(A small annual developer program fee is charged during this process) - Invite ATIV to publish your apps
- Sign in to your Google Play Developer console at https://play.google.com/apps/publish
- Click Users and permissions in the sidebar
- Click the kebab (three dots) menu > Invite new users
- In e-mail address field, enter the email address provided to you by ATIV
- Account Permissions tab
- Scroll down and select the following options:
- App Access section:
- Admin (all permissions)
- Releases section: check all options
- Create, edit, and delete draft apps
- Release to production, exclude devices, and use Play App Signing
- Release apps to testing tracks
- Manage testing tracks and edit tester lists
- Store presence section: check option
- Manage store presence
- User feedbacksection: check option
- Reply to reviews
- App Access section:
- Invite user
- Once we receive and accept the invite, approve our team access:
- Return back to your Google Play account
- Manage User Accounts
- Locate the ATIV invite
- ‘Actions‘ column on the far right
- Select ‘approve access‘
Approving our access will then grant our team rights to your account, allowing the submission of your app to the Google Play app store.
If you are submitting the app yourself, you may proactively submit a statement from your organization that you have permission for copyrighted materials in the app. This will help avoid suspension of your app for 'Impersonation' policy violations that could occur due to your sponsor logo for example. Submit your Advance Notice form to Google before submitting the app to the store.
If you do not wish to grant full app access, you can either use the direct .apk link provided from us and skip the Google Play submission entirely or create and submit the app yourself.
